Uruguay Being First Buyer XO Project

 Government of Uruguay became the first customer for Microsoft's XO project is better known as the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child). For now, countries in this part of South America has bought 100,000 pieces a laptop for school, for children of school age children up to 12 years. In 2009 the government will come forward to providing 300,000 laptops to every child in Uruguay.
To the New York Times, the originator of OLPC, Nicholas Negroponte said, "I have a little anxiety in distinguishing between a handshake with the gift of a check written." However he welcomed this first cooperation. According to him, they have agreed to make Uruguay the first country that will be a concentration of them in providing laptops to all children and teachers, after that they will explore the following countries.
The XO laptop itself has been known as a laptop procurement project for underprivileged children, especially in developing countries. Therefore, in the manufacture of these laptops are designed seawet possible, anti-water, can be operated using solar energy, including the display which is not affected so that sunlight can be used inside or outdoors. The cost of production of the XO laptop is not planned more than 100 U.S. dollars per piece. But at the end of last year's production costs are soaring apiece laptops up to U.S. $ 188 range.
